INTRODUCTION: West Air is based in New North Zone, Chongqing, China, operating a scheduled passenger network to 18 domestic destinations out of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. The company was established in March 2006 by its parent company Hainan Airlines.

Right now, WEST AIR has immediate positions available for A319/320/321Captains. The compensation (net amount received by pilot after taxes are paid in China by the airline) ranges up to $18,000 per month ($330 overtime per hour). 


​REQUIREMENTSTo qualify as West Air Captain, applicant should:

  • ​Have a minimum of 500 hours Pilot in Command and a total time of 3000 hours;
  • ​Have made at least 3 takeoff/landings in previous 3 calendar months; 
  • Have a valid ATPL(Air Transport Pilot License);
  • ​Be no more than 55 years of age;
  • Have at least ILS CAT-I experience; 
  • Have Class I Medical Certificate issued by Civil Aviation Authorities of ICAO;
  • Have a minimum level 4 of ICAO English.


SELECTION PROCESS - Miami RoadshowThe selection process takes place at Pan Am International Flight Academy, Miami, from March 21st to 25th 2016. The day begins with an introduction to WEST AIR and the recruitment team. Pilots can expect:

  • ​A pre-simulator briefing;
  • Simulator assessment in an A320 simulator, about 3.5 hours as both Pilot Flying and PNF;
  • ​The Simulator-debrief. 

​Those who emerge successfully from the SELECTION PROCESS will be invited to China for CAAC Medical Examination, CAAC Theory Exam, etc..


FINANCIAL STRUCTURE:

  • Assessment Fee: FREE!
  • Extra Cost (traveling, accommodations, etc): AT COST. Traveling and accommodations during roadshow will be at your own expense and responsibility. GPR will support you in finding hotels at a reasonable rate.
